Clematis akoensis Distribution area: Taiwan Height: 2-3m Flower size: 5-8cm
A rare species with very little circulation.
Said to be a phantom species, it has only recently been introduced to Japan.
The white flowers have 4 to 6 petals, which create a beautiful contrast and balance with the large bright purple center. Though the flowers are simple, they have a unique character that sets them apart from other varieties.
One of their charms is the fragrance that surrounds them at the peak of flowering.
The cute, round buds are also cute.
A certain level of temperature is required even after autumn in order for them to bloom.
From October onwards, when the minimum temperature drops below 10°C, it is best to stop growing them outdoors and bring them indoors.
